東欧を中心としたヨーロッパ史を教えています。人も、街も、食も好きなので、歴史学を学び始めました。多様だけど、何か統一感もあるヨーロッパに最も惹かれ、研究対象としました。訪れた街や村は数知れず。二十歳の頃からの「旅」は、まだ終わりません。
At Meiji Gakuin University, I teach European history. I started to learn history, because I love people, towns, and foods, too. Among many choices, Europe, which has various cultures but is unified, attracted me most. Not only in Europe, but also all over the world , I have visited a lot of towns and villages up to now, but my journey started when I was 20 years old, and it has not ended yet!

大学を決めるということは、一生の大きな部分を決めることであると言ってよいかもしれません。そんな大切なことを数字（学費や偏差値？）や、通学時間の長い短い、あるいは世間での不確かな評判などによって決めてしまって良いものでしょうか？
「皆さん全員、明治学院大学国際学部に来て下さい」という意味ではなく、考え抜いて、決断した人々を、わが国際学部は歓迎致します！
I might be good to say that your choice of college will decide a large portion of your life.
Is it really good to base such an important choice just on numbers (costs, deviation values, etc.), the duration of your commute, or unsubstantiated public opinion?
The meaning of this question is not to suggest, “One and all, come to Meiji Gakuin’s Faculty of International Studies,” but rather our Faculty warmly welcomes students who choose us after thoroughly thinking about their choice of a college program.

「ヨーロッパ地域研究」か、世界中どこでも場所は問わずに「近現代史」に関心のある学生を受け入れてきています。学期ごとにヨーロッパの１国を選び、その国の料理を食べながら、その土地の歴史や文化を掘り下げる「食事会」を続けてきています。
ヨーロッパに留学や旅行をしたい学生の背中を押せればとも思っています。
All students who are interested in European studies or modern history will be welcome. Each semester we chose one country in Europe, and we continue to have “eating parties” in which we study the history and culture of that country while tasting its cuisine. I think that I am “pushing from behind” students who want to travel or join study abroad programs.

これまでの研究対象としては、東欧社会における「肉牛」「羊」「白馬」「サクランボ」「国境線の意味」「筏と川」などを手がけてきました。
Specialization: Cattle and sheep in East European Society, the military border of the Habsburg Empire, raftsmen in Slovakia and so on.
