KONYA Akari

南太平洋の島嶼国パラオでフィールドワークを行いながら、ビーズの贈与交換をめぐる人々の実践について研究しています。モノや貨幣を循環させることで社会にどのような価値がうまれるのかについて考えています。
I am conducting fieldwork in Palau, an island nation located in the South Pacific, to study people’s practices of the gift exchange of beads (Palauan beads money). I am exploring how people make value in their society.

/Background		 京都大学大学院アジア・アフリカ地域研究研究科　博士課程修了、京都大学東南アジア地域研究研究所　連携助教などを経て、現職。博士（地域研究、京都大学）
Prior to coming to Meiji Gakuin, I received a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Asian and African Studies at Kyoto University, and then I was an Affiliated Assistant Professor in the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University.

M.A. in Area Studies, Kyoto University, 2010.
B.A. in Literature, Ritsumeikan University, 2006.

ゼミ紹介

Seminar

オセアニア地域研究（海の文化、社会、歴史、経済、政治など）。太平洋に広がる海洋世界について、学生の方々自らの関心に基づいてテーマを設定し、文化人類学の手法を用いて考えます。
Pacific regional studies (maritime culture, society, history, economics, politics, etc.) Students choose a topic based on an aspect of the Pacific Ocean world that interests them, and then they use cultural anthropological methods to study that topic.

研究テーマ

贈与交換、パラオ・ビーズの来歴、戦争をめぐる記憶と対話などに関心をもって研究に取り組んでいます。
I am working on several research topics as; Gift-exchanges, Provenance of Palauan Beads, Memories and Dialogue on War (Hiroshima).
