高校生の頃にアフリカ地域について幅広く学びたいと思い、大学ではアフリカ地域文化を専攻しました。
卒業後は金融機関に就職し、一通り社会の荒波に揉まれたあと、再び大学院で国際協力の観点からアフリカについて学び直そうと舵を切りました。
それ以来、アフリカ地域研究、開発経済学を専門に研究をしています。
I have a bachelor’s degree in language and culture (majoring in Swahili) from Osaka University of Foreign Studies and worked at financial companies in Japan.
After several years of working, I decided to go back to study Africa again and pursue a master’s degree in international cooperation studies.
Since then, I have specialized in African area studies and development economics.

みなさんの多くは、卒業後、社会人として組織や企業に勤める進路を選択する人が多いと思います。
社会に出たら「自立」することが必要ですが、私自身の経験からもそれは簡単なことでないとつくづく感じています。
自分の頭で思考し、自立性をもって自分の人生を切り開いていけるよう、講義やゼミを通じて、その手助けができればと考えています。
Once you graduate from university, you will have to deal with a lot of newnesses and explore what the world has for you.
There, you have to learn to be “independent”. It is a journey of life and the biggest challenge we all have to go through, including me.
University life is a process to become self-confident, independent, and responsible to society.
Through lectures and seminars, I hope to help you think for yourselves and take control of your life with independence.

サハラ以南アフリカを対象地域として、主に社会・経済を切り口に現代のアフリカを理解することを目指します。アフリカと一口に言っても、各国の経済状況はおろか、自然環境、歴史、文化、政治に至るまで、その内情は実に多様です。
こうした多様なアフリカを対象に、自ら問題を設定し、解き明かすことに意欲を持った学生を歓迎します。
This seminar aims to understand contemporary Sub-Saharan Africa mainly from the perspective of society and economy. Africa is diverse in terms of not only its economic conditions but also its natural environment, history, culture, and politics.
Students who are willing to set and solve their research questions are most welcomed.

（最近では、共同研究を通じて、日本の対アフリカ政策や、携帯電話（スマートフォン）端末の普及が新興国社会に与える影響の研究についても取り組んでいます。）

・Financing of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Africa and a change in the conventional finance
（Recently, I have been working on Japan’s foreign policy toward Africa and the impact of the spread of cell phones (smartphones) on emerging economies through joint research.）
