【Symposium】Prof. Kohki Abe|”Implications of the Korean Court Ruling of ‘Comfort Women’: State Immunity and Victim’s Rights to Justice” International Symposium
On 23 November 2023, the 33rd civil division of Seoul High Court made a judgment in a case brought by victims of Japanese military ‘comfort women’ against Japan on 28 December 2016, finding the defendant State of Japan liable for damages to the plaintiffs. Through the international symposium, it raise awareness of the global historical significance of this ruling and to further expand the discussion.
