An overview of the Department’s curriculum

English is the primary language of
the Department of Global and Transcultural Studies,
and its curriculum consists of lectures on culture,
society, economics and politics that are taught entirely
in that language.

GTS seminars are classes in which you study
and research specific topics
In your fourth year, you take two seminars and work closely
with your Graduation Research Supervisor.

During your first three years in GTS,
you take AEP classes to heighten your abilities
to read and understand academic texts,
write reports, make presentations,
and express your ideas.

Students who require Japanese learning
can take the Intensive Course.
Furthermore, all department students
can deepen their learning together
through unique advanced Japanese classes.
